| Introduction | ||||
| Welcome to CAP's online writing program for returnees. This class will
introduce you to the basics of creative writing. By the end of this class,
you will have written your very own short story (4-6 pages). To help you
write a clear, coherent, creative story, I will teach you how authors write
stories, give you tasks to help you improve specific writing skills, teach
you sophisticated writing techniques, and offer you lots of feedback. Here
are the topics we will cover. What makes a good story? Plot development Creating characters Point of view Establishing a setting Dialogue Personal Essays Capitalizing on strengths and managing weaknesses Keep on improving At the end of each lesson, you will be asked to apply what I teach you in this virtual classroom by completing a task, which I will evaluate. Most importantly, though, you will be working on your story throughout the class. Now that you know what you're in for, without further ado, let’s take a look at one of the most useful ideas in writing – The Writing Process. |
